The reason for buying headphones is usually so someone else doesn't have to listen to what you want to listen to. The Sennheiser HD-600 will change your mind, they actually can produce a better sound then some speakers.

For the Gamers the HD-600 gives you a sound that most speakers can't... Read full review »

byquadophile Dec 30, 2006

Pros Highly revealing, excellent dynamics, authoritative, exceptional build quality
Cons None, except price for some.
Recommended it? Yes

High-end sound for well under $600? You bet! A good pair of headphones and a dedicated amplifier is what you need to connect to your laptop to enjoy true high end sound.

Several years back I had opted for the HD-580's and they not only reproduced music faithfully, but, at the same time... Read full review »

Pros The best sound and comfort
Cons not for noisy environments
Recommended it? Yes

This is the one. The headphone that defines headphone listening. Built of the finest materials and utilizing the most current technologies these headphones not only sound the best but look and feel the best. The detail is very good, the mids liquid and the bass as tight and defined as I've ever... Read full review »

Pros Outstanding sound quality from most sources, exceptional comfort
Cons Less than ideal for portable use without an amp
Recommended it? Yes

Several months ago I visited a home-furnishings superstore called The Great Indoors, and I looked at the amazing selection of Sennheiser headphones there. Unfortunately, the Sennheiser models that they had on display and had available for self-service purchase were mediocre at best except for the... Read full review »

The Best Headphone Value Available

Pros Top Shelf Performance and Comfort
Cons Audiophile Listening may not be for everybody.
Recommended it? Yes

The question is not "Are the HD-600's that good?" because they are, without a doubt. No, the question is "Am I ready for audiophile-grade sound reproduction?" because that's what the HD-600's provide at what is essentially a bargain price.

Bargain price? At nearly $400?

Yup. No... Read full review »

Let me state for the record that I'm pushing 50 years on this planet and have been involved with audio gear in different capacities for a very long time.

I have owned a lot of headphones through the years, starting with Koss PRO 4A's back in the early seventies, AKG K240 and electrostatic... Read full review »

Upon hearing the Sennheiser HD 600 for the first time, I was immediately "blown away." This is a superlative headphone, which will wring every ounce of resolution and detail from your system. I delight in introducing my "non-audiophile" friends to these headphones -- they are simply awe-struck.

Cons They take too many hours to break in (hardly a con).

Try them. Please, I challenge you. Pull up your chair in front of your DVD player, and turn on Pearl Harbor. Advance to the attack scene, and be amazed. Every explosion, every shell hitting the ground, EVERYTHING is as if you were there. Oh, but it gets so much better.

The HD590's have... Read full review »

Astonishing clarity and a truly beautiful music-listening experience

byFargoUT Oct 29, 2004

Pros Wide, flat frequency response, replaceable parts, very comfortable, open-air...
Cons Other headphones pale in comparison, cord seems flimsy and needs frequent replacing
Recommended it? Yes

After two years using my Sennheiser HD-600s, I've decided to finally write a review. Now that Sennheiser has released their new HD-650s, this may seem antiquated, but I still feel like commenting on them. I first purchased the HD-600s after reading the disdainful opinions of the Sony V600s which I... Read full review »

Sennheiser HD 590

8 Helpfuls 9 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Comfortable, efficient, great sound
Cons A bit expensive and I wish they were a little smaller for lugging about.
Recommended it? Yes

My last headphones were sennheisers. I bought them about 8 or 9 years ago for $70 and used them almost every day for many years. After a while I managed to damage them a bit by stepping on the cord in spite of the modular design that let the cord pull free. The foam on the earpads also rotted away... Read full review »
