Instead of starting from presets or from scratch, you actually layer the drum set instruments, choosing from different templates. For example, if you are looking for a 16th note feel on the high-hat, you start out with several variations of that groove first. Then you add other layers. You quickly can customize your pattern easily without note-by-note programming hassles. At last you do not need to be a programming guru to come up with original, realistic grooves.
